The Flying Field is CLOSED ON TUESDAY EVENINGS at 5 p.m. to all flying except for the MRCS ALES League.

Unfortunately, we have not had much flying this spring but our cost outlays continue. We have to bring the Friends of the Field Appeal to your attention. The Friends of the Field Appeal plays an important part in our financing. It provides money for the upkeep of the field and offsets the ongoing reduction in membership. Without the donations, we would be unable to continue the weed control program and other improvements that contribute significantly to the overall appearance of our flying site. We encourage all those who enjoy flying at the field to contribute to the fund. All donations should be sent directly to the Treasurer Dave Stacer. If you have already contributed we thank you for your donation.

About the Midwest R/C Society

The Midwest R/C Society (MRCS) is an educational and social organization of about 60 members living in the tri-country area near Detroit, MI. The members share a common interest in aviation and model aviation in particular. Our interests include all forms of radio control and control line models including sport, giant scale, powered & non-powered sailplanes, helicopters, precision aerobatic, racing, ducted fan, 1/2 A, Old-Timer, IMAA-type aircraft, electric powered planes, and just about anything that flies and relates to aviation.

All Midwest R/C Society members are also members of the Academy of Model Aeronautics (AMA). To learn more about the AMA, visit the AMA Web site.

During the 'flying season', the club meets once a month for an evening of flying at the 7 Mile Rd. flying field. During the 'building season', the club meets the first Wednesday of each month at the EAA building - Mettetal Airport, Joy and N. Lilley Rd, Plymouth, MI.

For more information about the club, or its activities, contact one of the club officers.
